Hi Valerie. First let me offer you my condolences. I know how hard it can be to lose a parent unexpectedly. My Mother passed away on Aug 23rd 2003 and my Father 3 1/2 months later on Nov. 30th. My Mother was not expected, but my Father was ill for a number of years. I moved in about four years to take care of them. My Mother died in the hospital about two hours after I got her there, from septicemia and my Father died at home at 5 am, as was his wishes. I found no need to grieve when they passed. The room upon their death was filled with such a loving glow and a sense of peace that was beyond description. My brother turned to me and said, there is no reason to grieve is there? I could only answer no. Then I had the job of being executor for both as well. The arrangements were fairly easy to handle, both wanted cremation. The hardest part of all was the probate thing which finally ended about a month ago. I wish you well in the journey in which you are about to embark. It is indeed a life changing one. |
